If you don’t know what to wear to your engagement session, you’re in the right place! Choosing the right outfit for your engagement session can be stressful! Your outfit can change the whole look of your gallery, so it is really important to choose something that will elevate the look and not take away from it. I have photographed many engagement sessions, and I have compiled some of my best tips for you!

The first thing to keep in mind is the location of the session. You want to choose color that will compliment the surroundings. You don’t want to clash but you also don’t want to blend in! Choosing colors and textures that will compliment the background of the photos will make sure that your photos are as gorgeous as they can be.

Secondly, choose something comfortable. That doesn’t mean wear sweatpants or pajamas, but choosing something that you FEEL comfortable in will help you feel more confident in the photos. Some may feel most comfortable in a bodycon dress and heels while other may go for jeans and a tee. No matter what it is, choose what makes you feel like you!

And now for some rapid fire tips that hopefully will help you choose the perfect outfit for your engagement session:

• Choose something that makes sense to the season
• Choose two outfits if you want! Each engagement session includes time for two outfits
• Show your personality!
• Incorporate movement and textures (think linen, flowy dresses, leather, denim, etc)
• Aim for neutrals and earthy tones
• Coordination >> matching!
• Wear an outfit that makes you feel confident!
• Feel free to mix patterns and prints (but don’t go too crazy)
• Layer up and accessorize!
