Old World, enchanting, simple, elegant. All these words I would use to describe The Andrews Farm in Midland, NC.
As someone who adores European architecture, I was pleasantly surprised as I drove up to this venue. The home is stunning even in the dead of winter, and I can imagine the gardens are breathtaking during seasons of full bloom.
If you are considering a place for your European inspired elopement or wedding, this is your perfect venue. This venue can comfortably host 150 people on its grounds, with many options for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with gardens, architecture or trees as your backdrop.
The Andrews Farm is only a short distance from Charlotte, NC, yet you feel like you have been transported across the pond as you drive up the beautiful tree-lined drive. It’s situated on a family farm that has been in that location for three generations.
Hunter, the coordinator for the venue, spent some time with me on the most beautiful, sunny afternoon to give a tour of the grounds. My mind was racing the entire time, thinking of how I could photograph couples on their wedding day around the home and gardens. The vibe is elegant European and is the perfect venue for someone who appreciates both nature and architecture.
Upon arriving, there are several places that your attention is drawn to. The pebble drive transitions your mind into relaxing in a garden. The pebbled area next to the sunroom can be used for the reception as it is large enough for a tent to be placed. Next to that area is a graded grassy area that would be perfect for smaller gatherings and ceremonies. Imagine getting married with a beautiful European home behind you! They also have cement pedestals to be used for florals. Speaking of florals, Seeded Events + Design is one of my favorite florists in the area, and their vibe would be perfect for the Andrews Farm.
As you continue to walk through the property, you come upon gardens filled with rose bushes, camellias, and crepe myrtles lining the walkway. I can just imagine the gorgeous images I could take with couples walking through the white blooming crepe myrtles as the blooms fall to the ground.
Continuing through the property, you find two beautifully kept gardens. The one to the right is more muted in tones with dusty purples and greens. The garden to the left has more vibrant colors and a little garden house.
After passing the gardens, we walked alongside the home to the front courtyard where a chic pool and lounge area were waiting. This is a great location for cocktail hour with your guests, or to host your intimate weekday elopement.
The prime season to get married at The Andrews Farm is Spring and Fall. They do allow a handful of weekday elopements as well. You can also rent the venue for a proposal or intimate dinner. Whenever you book The Andrews Farm for your wedding, you also have the opportunity to use their 1700’s renovated cabin for an overnight stay! It is listed as an AirBnb and they have earned Superhost status because of their amazing place!
A few final thoughts, this place is absolutely stunning. The large property gives plenty of opportunity to see the sunrise and sunset. From early in the morning when you arrive to begin getting ready, to the evening when the party is over, you and your guests will be surrounded by beauty and light.
One last thing to note, The Andrews Farm does have a set list of planners they work with, one of them being Honey + Thyme Events. Honey + Thyme are absolute miracle workers when it comes to bringing your vision to life. Between the Andrews Farm, Seeded Events and Honey + Thyme, your wedding day would be a dream come true to say the least. Just don’t forget to add me to that vendor list!
