The morning started off slowly in Marietta, Georgia. Rooms were filled with laughter in the bride’s childhood home, surrounded by her family, bridesmaids, and a little furry boy named Buddy. I couldn’t help but notice how the light danced through the windows, creating that perfect blend of warmth and nostalgia that defines a truly romantic southern wedding.
She’s a designer and had just redecorated the living room for this event, and of course, her favorite shade of green filled the room. Every corner felt intentional and beautiful, a reflection of her style and the love surrounding her.
We had plenty of time to play, relax, and listen to stories. It felt like I was part of the group as I heard the mothers reminiscing about their kids who were no longer children, but now the bride and groom. Those quiet in-between moments are what make a wedding day special.
It truly felt like a magical time to get ready, with joyful jitters beginning to fill the room as the ceremony drew near.
Once the bride was ready, she and the groom shared a first touch on her front porch before making their way to the church for the ceremony. Afterward, we returned to her family home for portraits before heading to the Whitlock Inn, a beautiful venue for their evening reception.
The night continued with heartfelt speeches, delicious food, candlelight, and cake, followed by endless dancing and even a “Dirty Dancing” moment that had everyone cheering. It was the perfect ending to a romantic southern wedding in the heart of Marietta, GA.
I only book a certain amount of weddings per year so please reach out to see if your date is availabe!
