They got married and it was the most beautiful, anticipated ceremony ever. Everyone was just so happy to be there. I remember looking around just before the ceremony started and everyone was just laughing- they were just thrilled to be actually having a ceremony.
After the ceremony, We took a couple minutes of portraits in the smaller chapel and then headed over to their friend’s house. This wedding was so unique because everything was after dark. There was no power except for a neighbor who had solar- they let the host hook up some string lights so we could have a little light. There were candles everywhere, store bought cakes, champagne and cigars.
Everything came together in the literal last minute and it was beautiful.
The couple kept their eyes focused on what truly mattered- their marriage, their love, their community.
What a special wedding to be part of- truly an honor.

This sweet couple had planned a beautiful wedding for western NC on September 28, but when they arrived in Asheville for the wedding weekend things became uncertain. Hotels were calling off reservations and they were trying to assess how bad the hurricane was going to be.
Friday morning rolled around and they decided to cancel the original plan. At that point power was out and all they could do was wait and begin to plan for something else.
Second plan was to do a smaller ceremony at their friend’s house in Charlotte, but after hours of trying to get out of Asheville (on their wedding day), that plan was also called off.
Then, around 5pm on the wedding day as I was sitting at home I got a call. “Can you meet us at the little church on the lane at 8pm tonight? We’re going to make it happen”
Of course I was in. My bags were already packed so I started to get ready and headed out to meet them at 8pm.
There was no planner, no coordinator, no other vendors. But the ceremony finally started around 8:45pm.
I only book a certain amount of weddings per year so please reach out to see if your date is availabe!
