This downtown elopement was such a joy to photograph. When these two reached out to me, they said they wanted to keep it low key and truly just enjoy the day rather than fussing over photos and poses. Andrea told me on our consult call that my photos remind her of “Happy memories” and she wanted photographs like that to remind her of such a beautiful, special day.

So we began planning our afternoon together in downtown Charlotte! To make the day even more special they stayed at The Grand Bohemian, where modern design and art filled the room where they got ready. From there we took an Uber to the courthouse. Unfortunately, the Mecklenberg courthouse does not allow photography, so I had to wait outside while they officially tied the knot.

Once they came outside a few moments later, we walked around with their close friends and just enjoyed the day! It was a warm day filled with wind- which made for some of my favorite photographs ever.

I loved seeing how much fun they had with their elopement- even though it was a short afternoon they got a cake, champagne and a beautiful place to stay!
